Description
All right,so here is the product.Strap axe, very old chunk of wrought iron, bladed with a chunk of a dump-truck hydraulic-ram seal, quenched in waste oil,and drawn to bronze-jumped the gun,there-the file just barely touches it.All the work done with coal, welding was tough-great difference in plasticity between wrought and steel(not to mention the melt temp.).4-5 hours altogether, satisfying in the extreme.Bootlegging viking artifacts comes rather naturally to me,my working(and living)conditions being very similar to theirs. They did have an advantage fuel-wise,surrounded as they were by the hardwood forest. The conifers around here don't quite have the BTU's,although i hear that they work great for welding, didn't have a chance to experiment yet.

I have just checked out the rest of your work, some very nice pieces! I hope i can get back to a few work days so i can keep working on my stuff, don't have the space for a forge unfortunately.
will upload my attempts so far when I get back to them, and my camera. I'm in china for work at the moment, they don't have time to indulge in such things as blacksmithing around here!
